Some thoughts from our Spring Sports teams as they continue to get ready for the season. By Meg Marcel ‘20 and Grace Cuddy ‘20 Softball: “ I think the only thing we can do right now is to be patient and stay positive during these tough times. I know all the girls including myself, are ready to start the season and get into the swing of things. We are all using this time to better our own skills and fundamentals, so when the time does come when we can finally get out there, we can put it all together as a team and have fun” said senior Meg Marcel. The girls are getting ready for May 4th to roll around. They are looking forward to making improvements upon last season and to work hard while having fun. Girls Lax: “I think that with the conditions and our situation the lacrosse team is trying to stay positive and keep working. We have been doing stick work and workouts to stay active. It’s difficult to adjust but we all have to make it work. As a team, we even did a Zoom call to get everyone involved. Although this is not the ideal situation I think we are trying to make the best of it and prepare for the upcoming season. It’s short but it’s something and we are very grateful for that. I know I’m also happy we have an extension on the season” says junior Mel Mcclay. The girls have been working very hard to come out as strong as possible on May 4th. Boys lax: “ We are trying to stay active and healthy, keep the sticks in our hands and keep getting better every day. The team is doing a good job of self quarantining and staying at home. Everyone is staying healthy and is getting ready to go” says senior Nolan Bosse. The boys are looking to improve their record from last year and to really find their identity as a team. They are all excited for May 4th to come soon and to get out on the turf. Baseball: “We have a group chat we are always texting in with all the coaches and we have group FaceTimes to stay connected we are actually having a zoom today with the whole program we are also doing a bunch of different challenges on Twitter and then from a baseball standpoint everyone is hitting or throwing to get better for when the season resumes,” said senior Connor Dolan. The boys are eager to get back on the field and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table this year. Tennis: “Since most courts are closed and we are keeping our distance by self-isolating, our team has been working hard to stay in shape and practice at home. We are continuing to prepare and look forward to the upcoming season!” said Senior Eleni Kroumpouzos. The team is super excited for the courts to open back up on May 4th and to bond with their new coach! We are all excited to see what they bring to the courts this year! Track and Field: “In preparation for this delayed track season, my teammates and I have been training on our own in safe places,” says senior Teddy Rossini. Our track team is looking forward to a successful season this year. Keep up the great work guys!
