We will begin our winter sports season tomorrow, Monday the 30th of November for the MIAA approved winter sports: boys and girls basketball, boys and girls hockey, and CO-ED Swimming. We will be using the out-of-season contact rule that was "suspended" for this school year. This plan is within the rules, safe (following all protocols), and a great thing for our student-athletes.
We will follow all Massachusetts EEA guidelines, MIAA modifications and rules, and School policy as we move forward. The administration, coaches, and athletic department have been working on the winter sports season for months. We worked out practice plans, the league and non-league schedule, and formulated a great plan.
The details for each sport and check-in procedures are on gobishops.com on each sports page. We have also listed the groups for the first day. Anyone who registered late (after the November 20th) is not eligible for Monday and will be assigned to the next session day. We will assign the next session time after Monday's time slot. We are limited to 25 players on any playing surface and we will have to ensure we fit those guidelines before making assignments.
Please know as we move forward, the key to our success will be following all policies and procedures and communication. We will all have to work together on and off the court, pool, and rinks.
Our goal is to get our student-athletes playing the approved winter sports safely. We are excited about the season and this great opportunity. Please let me know if you have any questions.
