Archbishop Williams names Coach Kara O’Toole to lead its Girls Volleyball program

PRESS RELEASE - Archbishop Williams names Kara O’Toole to lead its Girls Volleyball program. Coach O’Toole, who served as the school’s Freshmen coach for the past two years, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a player and a coach to the head varsity coaching position.

AD Gordie McClay stated, "I’m thrilled to have Coach O’Toole assume the leadership of our Volleyball program. As a former Boston Globe, Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, and D1 college volleyball player, she has tremendous knowledge of the game. She will bring the drive, dedication, and love for the game needed to take our program to the next level”.

President Dennis Duggan (Williams Class of ’70)  added, "At AWHS, our coaches are, first and foremost, outstanding teachers and mentors. In that regard, we have been most fortunate to have our Girls Volleyball program led by Coaches Leong and Lewis over the last several years.  For the same reasons, we are very confident that Coach O'Toole is the right person to lead our program to greater heights in the competitive CCL.”

In commenting about her appointment, Coach O’Toole stated, “I am thankful and excited to lead the AWHS Girls Volleyball program. I enjoyed working with Coach Leong and wish him all the best”. She added, “I have enjoyed the opportunity to develop the program at the Freshman level over the last two years. My goal now is to build a consistent winning culture across the entire program”.

Principal Dr. Michael Volonnino summed up the school’s position on the promotion, "Coach O’Toole has an impressive volleyball pedigree and has done a terrific job developing our youngest players into contributors at the Varsity level.  I am looking forward to seeing where she will take our Girls program.”

Archbishop Williams, a Grades 7-12 Catholic, co-educational school in Braintree, is a proud member of the Catholic Central League.
